Default 2017 oem wheels on 2012. Lug nut problem

Put some 2017 wheels on my 2012 but all the stock and aftermarket lugs seem to be long. It looks funny how far out they stick from the wheel. Will short lugs not fit? Perhaps the lug bolt is longer on the 2012 than the 2017?

I use Gorillia lug nuts

*Part # 61108XL
They're only slightly longer than OEM.

Mine were pretty long on the 2013 wheels, too. Maybe it's just fancier wheels that let them stick out more.

here's the gorilla 61108 CXL, where the cone is a bit larger.

I had the same issue, I bought a set of new takeoffs from a 2016 and didn't like how much they stood out so the only option I found that would work for me were these.
Amazon Amazon
Several F150 owners have used these without any issues myself included. I believe there are several options for just a standard acorn in this size by Gorilla if you don't care for the overkill in having all wheel locks.

I had the same issue when my OEM rims were damaged when the tires were replaced. I got a set of 18" OEM chrome rims off of a 2015+.

I used these lugs. They are smaller (tall and wide), but I haven't lost torque on them and where they seat hasn't bored out any.
