Default 2014 models, anything to consider?

Considering a purchase of a 14. 5.0, EB? Have the EB issues been resolved with the stumbling? I had a 2012 EB, and it was a decent truck, and looking back, wished I had kept it.

I have a 2014 ecoboost 157" WB with 12k miles on in since December. No issues besides a few broken windshields and flat tires, I haven't noticed the shuddering like what other 157" WB owners have been complaining about.

I regret not getting the 402A (?) package. IIRC, that included the back-up camera.

I have a '14 EB with a little over 8k on it. Stumbling isn't a problem...at all. I don't even detect a note of turbo lag.

Consider moving relatively quickly if you want a new '14. I looked for a few weeks in a ~300 mile range and they seem to be dwindling quickly. There seem to be more upper trim levels left than lower.

Granted it's just my personal opinion.....bypass 5.0 and the EB. I think you've seen enough issues posted here with their own problems. I've only read about the issues with the EB, never experienced them. I read here every day about different issues with the EB and I feel bad for the people having to deal with those issues. I had a new 2013 with the 5.0 that developed the dreaded knock at 11,000 miles. You've should of seen enough posts on here by now to answer your own questions about that. Seems to be a roll of the dice whether you get a bad one and a bigger headache trying to get it fixed if you do. I dumped my 5.0 immediately and bought a 2014 loaded with the 6.2 liter. Maybe it's just me ,but I don't see much bad press here about the 6.2 motor. All the power I need for towing and it gets the same fuel mileage numbers that my 5.0 was getting. Never been happier. Good luck with your choice

'14 EcoBoost with 22k miles here with zero problems. Only thing I would have done different is got a clear protective film to cover the front ptm bumper bc it's covered in rock chips.

2014 XLT EB 4x4 w/Off Road Package here. Heavy trailer tow package. The only issue I've had is a transmission vibration for which there is a TSB. It was repaired under warranty. At 7000 miles I have a computer based lifetime 16.5 mpg. I have not towed my TT with it yet, so I am looking forward to that experience. I know that the difference between my 2011 with 3.31 and this one with 3.73 is noticeable. I have taken a hit on mpg of anywhere between .5 mpg in normal driving to about 1.5-2 mpg on the interstate. So far the only thing I would change is putting the back up camera display back in the rear view mirror. I don't like having to look down at the stack to back up. It's just a preference. It would be nice to have a selection in the menu where you could choose one or the other. Overall, I'm very pleased with this model.
