I'm somewhat confident that I can tackle the project, if I can remember to I will snap some pics at various points and try to upload them if I'm successful in the swap. It may assist those of us who have never owned a truck with quite this much plastic on it before. But of course that is assuming I find success in the first place, who knows, I have horrible luck.

Stage 3 has a video showing you how to remove the support from the truck.

For splitting the two, start at one end of the grille and start with the two large clips on he side, then start working your way around the top/bottom of the grille until you reach the other side.

I've seen the videos on how to remove the grille itself, just not anything picture or video wise on how to separate the surround from the center. I guess I was just getting ahead of myself on making a slide show or putting some pics up.

When I had my surround PTMed, I just took the whole thing off my truck, and didn't even try to remove the grille itself, I figured I'd break something. Take some photos regardless, it might help others to see where you may have gone wrong. I don't think anyone will throw rocks at you. LOL

I watched that video before doing the grill swap on my 2011.
It was a good "how to/how not to" combo video... as they broke at least 3 clips removing the grill surround from the hood.

So, do the folks with melting reflectors have the 912 or 921. The suspense is killing me.

I know this thread has been dead for some time. Hopefully I can still get some insight from more experienced ford owners. I have a 2010 f150 platinum 4x4. I was looking at aftermarket lights and really like the rigid grill insert for the 2013-14 which hold a 30" rds series light bar. It how ever does not fit my specific year. Would I just need to purchase a 13-14 grill and put the insert in that grill for this to work?

I know this thread is a bit older, but I was just wondering if the parts list is also compatible with the 4.6L triton, i think because the 5.4 and 4.6 share mostly the same block that the parts would work fine, but i was just curious.
