2014 5.0 weird noise
Hey all,
Ive got a 2014 F-150 5.0 FX4. Ever since the truck was new I have heard a really faint noise coming from the passenger side front wheel area of the truck. Its a metal on metal sound, but its like its just brushing by each other. Its a sound that the air and radio have to be off to hear. Anyways when the truck had 700 miles on it I took it to the dealer to get looked at cause it was driving me nuts. They said it was probably a seal somewhere in the axle that was still breaking itself in. Well 5000 miles later its still doing it. Ive taken it back to the dealer and they said it still might be a seal. To me a seal wouldn't make this sound im hearing. So as of right now there gonna pull all of the axles to see if any of the metal within the seal is touching the axle. I was just wondering if anybody else had any issue such as this one. I feel like im crazy because im the only one that can hear it. Also any suggestions as to what it might be? Thanks in advance for the responses and help.

I read that there are a few parts difference between the '13 and the '14 on the front axles, but otherwise my trucks configuration should be the same as yours.
Mine rides very quietly, so I'd suggest you to have it looked at at another dealership, because if you're correct and there's metal-to-metal rubbing, you might be the one paying later for the replacements.
Good luck!
