Default 2014 5.0 roush supercharged

I recently just bought a 2014 F-150 5.0 and had the ford dealership install the roush stage 2 supercharger that is supposed to put out 570 horsepower to the crank. Finally after getting the truck, the power felt low and i didnt feel much of a difference between stock and with the supercharger. also the cruise control was not working properly, it would shift all the way down to 3rd gear to climb hills going 80 mph with no load on the truck. i took the truck back twice to fix the same power of loss of power and cruise control not working. finally one of the guys working there drove my truck and said it has all the power its suppose to. so i took it home again and got it on a dyno. the results were 389 horsepower and 392 ft/lbs torque to the ground. do these numbers seem low or is it just me. i would appreciate any feed back, thanks

That's more power than a stock 5.0 would put to the wheels, but I bet it's a pretty crappy conservative tune. Custom dyno tuning would net you a lot more power, but would probably void any warranty from Ford/Roush.

Because its warrantied by Ford, they're not gonna maximize the efficiency of the supercharger... they're gonna give you a bump in power on a REALLY safe tune to keep everything safe. Go aftermarket tune to get more power for sure.

why wouldn't you have bought a 6.2 and install a prochager instead if you wanted big power? What did the stealership charge for your roush?

ok thanks, ive been reading alot that the roush tune is really weak. so a dyno tune would definitely get me more power? im already thinking 75mm pulley with injectors and a full exhaust... the way it is now is really bad. 0-60 was 7.2 secs at 4000 ft. elevation.

i wanted to keep the warrenty and still have the power that they claim. but the way it is now is pathetic. the 6.2 would have only gotten 20 more hp and alot worse fuel economy. i ended up paying around $8,700 for the kit installed added on to the price of the truck.

So you financed a $6000 supercharger for $8,700 that will cost over 10k once you pay for it? And got ****ty results? Rough deal bud.

yeah pretty much. im not happy at all with roush. ill check into dyno tuning the truck and see if that improves the performance. i wish i would have kept my ecoboost cause that actually seemed faster than this V8 with a supercharger... that doesnt even sound right, but thanks for the responces

Yeah the conservative tune is what is hurting it. Leaving everything exactly how is is and just getting a custom dyno tune would net you huge power gains and would probably be more of what you are hoping for. You could always do that but keep the tune that is in it currently and reload it if you ever needed any warranty work. Just a thought...
