So I recently purchased a 2013 xlt with the 5.0 and 2wd. The truck I purchased has sync, however it doesn't have the MFT that my roommates escape has. Seems like a real nice system, considering there isn't an aftermarket dashkit to install an Alpine or Pioneer. I have contacted a couple dealers asking if it was possible to do a swap of the stereo, however the responses I have received were most "i dont know" or "uhh... can I get back to you?". So I figured I'd tap into your guys' infinite amount of knowledge. Anybody hear of this being done? Is it at all possible? Furthermore... is it worth it?

Cost would be crazy, plus all the wiring work to make it work would be very difficult. Best bet is wait for an aftermarket dash kit and radio, or order the MFT stereo surround and homemake some brackets to mount an aftermarket radio. The MFT screen is the same size opening for a double din radio. Not sure if anyone has done this yet, but it has been an option I have though about attempting.

 

any idea how long it took for the alpine kit to come out? I'll admit.. this whole radio thing is getting to me. I like the way the 2012 kit looks (alpine). hopefully they will do another one
