2013 Supercab specs
The stabilizer bar is attached to the frame, front and sometimes rear. Up front it is directly attached to the frame and extends outward towards the front wheels and is attached to both lower control arms. It's purpose is to stiffen the suspension during cornering maneuvers. Why people always describe it as body roll is beyond me because that's not what it's doing. (Not technically anyway)

Congrats on your well deserved retirement. Thanks for helping to build an awesome truck.
I worked at Ford, engineering seat belts for 35 years. Being retired & moved to TX I have no connections. Now I am like everyone else. I bought a new 2013 Supercab with a V8. Very nice. On the options list they show "front stabilizer bar". I have searched the internet, contacted the dealer and looked on Fords website but to no avail. Can anyone tell me where I can go to find info like this? Or tell me what the function is of a stabilizer bar?
Yes, but it IS body roll that the stabilizer bar is trying to counteract. The best term for stabilizer bar is anti-roll bar. It is sometimes erroneously called an anti-sway bar; but sway is a side-to-side movement. The purpose of the bar is to minimize the body roll over the vehicle's longitudinal axis.

The PRIMARY result is EXACTLY what I described, it stiffens the suspension. Everything else is lagniappe.
