2013 Ram VS F150 changes

I was shopping for SUV's about a year and a half ago, and I did some browsing on a Jeep forum. At the time it seemed like every new Grand Cherokee owner was having horrible problems with their air suspension and multiple trips to the dealer wasn't solving it for some. I am sure the problem has been fixed by this point, but it didn't speak to well of the Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler family that their brand new, super advanced suspension was basically crap when they released it (gee, does Dodge have a history of this or what?).
I can't believe GM has allowed themselves to fall this far behind, either, in the face of what Ford and Dodge are doing. When I was shopping for a new truck it was laughable at some of the options that GM is still offering. A V6 with 195 HP/260 torque, 4-speed transmission, and terrible gas mileage compared to the competition? Please. How they even sell any base work truck type Silverados/Sierras anymore with what Ford is offering is beyond me.

And Ford put out a perfect product? Look at all the shutter/vibe problems, How about all the tranny problems, and when the Eco boost came out there were tons of people that were getting crappy milage and needed a reflash.
All I am saying is that ALL manufactures have problems especially with first year models.
Than again I don't get all wrapped up in the fan boi crap so my loyalty can shift if someone makes a better product.

You are correct about Ford, too, no one is perfect. I passed on the EcoBoost engine because of the problems I have been reading about on here and other forums.

I like the previous Ram generation over the current one. While it was my second choice behind the F150 when I was buying in 2010, it's exterior looks just don't appeal to me. Looks bloated, especially the crew cabs. Now if I had been buying a truck back in MY 02 or 03 no question it would be a Ram over an F150. Out of the changes Ram made for their 13 MY, I personally don't care to have a single one. Less is more sometimes. I had to drive my step-dad's '10 Ram the other day, and it continued to reaffirm I made the right choice for me in buying my F150. Both are good trucks but the F150 is definitely more "me."

Grill shutters? Stop start? Sounds like fluff. That HEMI crap doesn't impress my. My lawn mower has OHC head with the valves in a hemi configuration. Thats all a bunch of crap. They may as well call it the RAM prius. Ford doesnt need to add that garbage. The only thing that seems cool is the 8 speed.

Just pondering if Ford will adopt some of the changes that Ram introduced with their new 2013 model. I will be buying a 13 model and thought about this Ram for prob 5 hours then i laughed and said what are you thinking... but i am not able to wait till fords 15 model changes since my 96 ranger which has served me extremly well is ready to goto the farm for retirement.
Heres what i would like to see in the 2013 F150 that Ram brought in.
-start/stop tech. (i know a lot of ppl say thats dumb but it has the option of enable/disable if you choose)
-active grill shutters
-keyless enter/go
-Im on the fence about the turn dial shifter kind of sounds cool and makes more room but i can also see my self saying wtf
Now on that whole air suspension, it sounds like a good idea in theory but what about lifting your truck or making mods, not to mention the thought of something going wrong with that makes me cringe. Specially from a dodge product....sorry Ram...

Sounds like you need to get back into a Benz, a diesel GL maybe? And nice trailer? These are still still trucks and will have some odd creaks and rattles. If your pissed about this truck good thing you didn't drive my 01 lighting or 03 hemi. Better yet my 97 f-350 7.3 Lol

Hmmm... I don't know.. My wife has a new Grand Cherokee which has been great, and it seem the new rams may be a notch up again, and I really don't think much of the current interior in the fords so I may lean either way. I will have to drive both when I come to replace my faithful '99 next year
