2013 Ram VS F150 changes
Just pondering if Ford will adopt some of the changes that Ram introduced with their new 2013 model. I will be buying a 13 model and thought about this Ram for prob 5 hours then i laughed and said what are you thinking... but i am not able to wait till fords 15 model changes since my 96 ranger which has served me extremly well is ready to goto the farm for retirement.
Heres what i would like to see in the 2013 F150 that Ram brought in.
-start/stop tech. (i know a lot of ppl say thats dumb but it has the option of enable/disable if you choose)
-active grill shutters
-keyless enter/go
-Im on the fence about the turn dial shifter kind of sounds cool and makes more room but i can also see my self saying wtf
Now on that whole air suspension, it sounds like a good idea in theory but what about lifting your truck or making mods, not to mention the thought of something going wrong with that makes me cringe. Specially from a dodge product....sorry Ram...
Just wanted to see if anyone has any other info other then the grill, lights and centre stack
Cheers

I think dodge hit the nail on the head with their 2013 trucks. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do in the real world. Considering the amount of problems I've had with my 2011, the reliability can't be any worse than ford. I know 4 people with 2010 and 2011 rams, neither of them have had a single issue.
Air suspension is old news, it's been around for a while. There shouldn't be any reliability issues there.

I too am wondering about the whole air suspension thing. As you stated, lots of people like to mod there trucks' suspension and its usually a fairly simple job. Adding a lift kit to a truck with factory air ride sounds like it might cost a lot more and require a professional to install, for people with less know how on this type of thing. As for the other stuff that you mentioned, as long as they have an on/off feature it could come or go. What I'm most interested in is the 8 speed tranny. (if ford is getting one) I have an 08 with half that which I plan on keeping after I buy the 2015. It would be interesting to compare the two, towing wise because I do a lot of that atm.

Yeah I would love to see some of these features in fords 2013 refurbish, so I don't have to say ah if only I could have waited till the redesign, which due to my current vehicle situation waiting till the 13's is hard enough.

It sounds nice but is really just a Jeep Grand Cherokee in truck form.

^^how? it is still a true truck with body on frame and decent load ratings. just because they have adapted some nice features from the GC it's far from a glorified unibody minivan like the GC.

A has been that never was
Grill shutters? Stop start? Sounds like fluff. That HEMI crap doesn't impress my. My lawn mower has OHC head with the valves in a hemi configuration. Thats all a bunch of crap. They may as well call it the RAM prius. Ford doesnt need to add that garbage. The only thing that seems cool is the 8 speed.
