When I did an OEM HID swap on our '10 Taurus, I simply reconfigured the OEM plugs. It's pretty simple to do if you have a tiny bit of savvy. Just swap the wires into the correct ports for HID (vs halogen). Then you won't have a "weak link" in the wiring w/added connectors.

You will need a wiring diagram to do this, but that's easy to come by.

Not yet, sent them back and haven't thought about it since. Probably just addIng LED lights for more lighting and keeping stock headlights as is.
