Default 2013 fan always on?

Guys, is it normal for the fan on a 2013 Ecoboost to be running so much... not towning, just commuting. Its been 55 - 60 degrees all week and it runs just as much as summer time. What temps does it cycle at?

Not normal I have seen a few threads on this. I've only heard mine in the summer heat.

If you're concerned, benelli_t, it might be wise to make an appointment at your dealership so they can check things out. If you don't want to make a special trip, you can always mention this at your next maintenance visit.

Thank.. I will give it a try.

Crystal, I do my own maintenace. Going to the dealer is a hugh PITA for me. It seems I am not the only one with this issue. I dont mind them running, but they should not be running at cold amb temp.

Mine never did until they applied a TSB for another issue and now my fan kicks on every time the truck starts regardless of temp outside. Fix one problem and create another...

Yes, mine does the same. It will only run about a minute before it kicks on. It does turn off from time to time without the AC on but not very long. If the AC is on it never turns off.

I cant see the fan lasting for 100K plus always running like this.

I agree, it seems each time you go to dealer to get them to fix a problem they create another, I am not going back to dealer because they will fiddle with stuff until they get the fan off and then create another issue. It may hold out but it is annoying that a fan kicks on in 30 degree mornings or 50 degree mornings. Especially when there are no accessories on. Tech has its pluses but it has its minuses and it seems these trucks brains operate on there own.

Anyone else having this issue with a mid year built 13? I am trying to figure out if it is indeed the updated TSB flash that is causing this. Is there another update out that may fix the fan turn on temp yet? I could live with it turning on at 100 degrees in the summer.

10/12 for mine and it does this as well, i felt it had something todo with the intercooler for cool/cooler air for the eco engine..
