Nobody has any input?

If anybody could spare 5 minutes, if you have an F150 with manual hvac controls, pull the resistor and see what it looks like.

I'm just lost on this. Every time I try to order one online, no matter where from (ford, rockauto, amazon) they all say if the truck has manual temp controls, the black resistor "card" is what is needed (as shown in post 40). Another weird thing is the hole pattern isn't even the same. It looks like the black resistor card has 4 mounting holes that won't line up with the 2 holes as seen on the white one shown in the pictures above.

The only reason I could possibly have the "wrong" part in my truck is it was wrecked pretty bad about a month after I got it. I t-boned a kid who pulled out of a driveway without looking, doing $21k+ worth of damage. There should not have been a need to replace the motor or resistor, but the longer I have the truck, the more suspect of the repair shop's work I become.

Thanks to anyone who has any input.

I have an '11 FX4 with the auto climate and this is the unit I just installed after my system wouldn't blow at all. Had the same thing happen in my BMW and it was due to the same issue. Plugged in before installing back in the opening and it all worked.

I have a 2011 FX2 with manual HVAC controls and it is the black blade type and it's only held in with 2 of the screws diagonally apart. I changed it 3 years ago.

Thank you. I did just that, and they confirmed that despite me having manual controls, I need the sensor that is supposedly for automatic temperature controls. I asked the tech on the phone why that might be, and he just said Ford is confusing some times.

I have the same one (Motorcraft YH-1829 A/C Blower Motor Switch) you have. Mine is a 2014 XLT. I have been having the same issue. The last time the blower cut off I banged on the bottom of the blower motor and it started to work. It has been working now for 2 months. I suspect a loose connection but everything looks good.

I ordered the OE Motorcraft part on Amazon for about $38. The part number is "YH-1829". It took me about 5 minutes to replace and fixed my problem. I have read on the forums that other F150s of the same model have had the issue of being stuck on one speed or not working at all. When I took the old part out I could see that the prongs were burned out. The part is located under the passenger dashboard and can be removed by removing 2 -8mm screws. You can have easier access if you put down the glove box and pinch (inward) the side walls, which allows it to swing downward farther. The pigtail connector has black electrical tape around it. Remove the tape to expose the pigtail clip.

7/14/17 UPDATE:
The part above is for my '13 with autoclimate used with MyFordTouch.
After several months it worked great but now is acting up again. In 90 to 100 degree weather I have been placing the fan at higher speeds. I noticed that when at higher speeds it tends to cut out more often. I can only assume maybe it is amperage overload? When i mess with the wires it comes back on. I also notice that the wires are hot. I rechecked the Resistor and it is burned out again. This time the pigtail was melting as well. I ordered another Resistor and Pigtail. What i have read and found to be true is that the wires on the stock pigtail are overheating due to being somewhat thin. The stock pigtail has 4 wires ranging in different sizes. The pigtail part i am ordering from Amazon is redesigned to have thicker gauge wires. (Some reviewers have said the thicker wires are made to disperse heat). Any thoughts on this?

The fan has been oddly been working well recently and I havent replaced these parts yet but I am going to give it a go and check back in when i can get it installed.

When I bought my resistor the other day, the counter man told me to inspect the plug since Ford had a problem with these heating up and melting. This is why most places offer the combo resistor + pigtail.

My plug was perfect. No signs of overheating. I ordered the new resistor. Should be here very soon. I had to reinstall the old one though until the new one gets here. Cold air blowing really slow is still a lot better than no air at all.
