Gentlemen, as you will see below... I have stock(?) rims on my Limited... problem is these lug nuts are DIFFICULT to put on and take off... odd ball size... the either get stipped or they stay there... I want to replace them with more standard and better lug nuts... the owners manual says i have standard M14 x 2.0 lugs... any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Over time those go bad and tire stores won't service your truck. I had to buy new ones several years ago. I didn't have much choice since I didn't know until I took my truck in for new tires and the tire store wouldn't touch my truck until I bought new. I had to go to AutoZone and get whatever they had. In fact I had to drive to 2 different stores to find 24 of them. Cost was about $5 each or about $120 total. I have no idea what brand they are but they look fine to me.
This is a common problem for those with the thin cover over regular lug nuts. The ones on Ford seem to go bad faster than other manufacturers, but all of them go bad eventually. I bought new ones proactively for my other vehicles.
marshallr, I've come to the same conclusion... the manual says M14 x 2.0 thread size. I've been told Gorilla makes a good lug... I'm just trying to figure out the length!
The factory wheels/nuts are an XL Bulge nut, meaning the conical part that locates the wheel is larger than a typical lug nut. If you plan on keeping the OEM wheels you should replace with the same xl buldge
Gorilla does make a replacement for the 2001-2014 F150 nuts and its listed as 61108CXL(or CXLBC for black) in their catalog.
