Default 2013 Ecoboost Cooling Fans coming on at Cold Start

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I have a 2013 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost with 53K miles on it. Over the past couple of weeks I have had issues with the cooling fans coming on when I first start the truck in the morning with the A/C off. It only runs for 20-30 seconds and then functions normally. This happens intermittently at cold start and doesn't occur when I start it after the engine is warm. I know these engines have a bit of personality on cold starts but I have had the truck since 14K and this is just now starting. Does anyone have any experience with this happening or have any ideas where to start?

Check coolant level, these trucks are very sensitive and will crank the fans when it is barely down.

Coolant level is good. Fans did not come on yesterday morning at first start but did today, I would take it to dealer but since this problem is intermittent I’m sure they won’t be able to replicate it. Could this be a relay or maybe ac pressure switch?

It could. What does "good" mean for the coolant? Make sure it is very close to Max.

If your HVAC controls are set to blow on the windshield, it will run the AC compressor to dry the air (most vehicles run the AC system to keep condensation off the inside of the windshield even if the AC system is shut off). When the AC compressor runs, so do the fans. Once there is enough pressure in the AC system, they shut off. Try it with your heating system completely off (via the power button). That said, mine will run the fans for 30 seconds or so on most cold starts. It wants to be smarter than I am, so I let it. Ford must have some reason for it.

Coolant is right in the middle of the min and max cold level, I’ll put it to max line and see if it makes a difference. Hvac is all off, but you could be onto something, just confusing as to how it has just now started.
