Default 2012 TPMS compatible with 2017

Just bought a set if 2017 20" take offs to put on my 2012 Lariat. Can I just move the tpms sensors over to the 2017 wheels or did they change the mounting?

No tire shop will do it because the damn 20's have a lower load rating than the 12's 18" tires.

Thanks.

That sounds bizarre, if they are factory wheels they are fine. What are these ratings?

The mounting is the same, you need to use the 2012 tpms. Discount moved mine no problem when I swapped to 2015 wheels.

I also just bolted on a set of 2015 20 inch sport wheels on my 2012. Tire place just moved the sensors from my stock 18s to the 20s and put the ones out of the 20s in the 18s. Cost me 150.

Yep, i moved the sensors over myself today and mounted them. The 18" Michhelins were 114 load and the 20 inch Hankook's are 113. Looks so much better!

The valve stems had the same mount. I broke the beads on the 18's, unscrewed the sensors and screwed them into the 20's syems. No light so it worked.
thanks
