2012 Tick
Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum so I hope someone can help me.
I have a 2012 f150 5.0 with 201,000 miles that has the TICK. It started after I ran some Lucas fuel injector cleaner through it, but that maybe unrelated. I have attached a short video of it, unfortunately due to size restrictions it is only a few seconds. I hope you can help me.
thanks!

I’ve had it about a year, it has 201,00 miles in it. I change the oil on my one as listed on the stickers, every 3,000 - 5,000 miles. It’s usually done by the dealership but the last time I took it to a Goodyear and they used conventional oil and filter. I just changed it myself a few days ago and I put full synthetic Castrol 5w20 as called for and added oil stabilizer in it and a premium filter.
I recommend using youtube to upload videos to, then you can link it here.
From what i heard, it sounds like mine did when the injectors were needing a clean, that you then said you just used some injector cleaner, makes a compelling care in my ears that you need to use some PEA fuel cleaner at high strength to try and sort it out.
From the sound of the engine, you should also do plugs, and gap correctly, as well as throttle body cleaning.
Personally, i would suggest you never touch oil additives, do maintain that change interval, and change to a 5w30 - because the engine is better suited to that as well as it being over 200k now, it'll likely benefit from it too.
