On my last 4 new trucks the air pressure in the tires was 45-50 psi when I got them home. It will ride a whole lot better with the correct amount of air in the tires. My Platinum rides pretty good for a truck, but it doesn't compare with the wife's MKS. When shipping they air the tires up so they don't have any give.

check the air pressure. When I picked mine up from the stealer the tires were at 45psi, and apparently on these smaller trucks, 36-39 is about all you need. Thats a start.

I can tell you that this FX4 is a bit "jitter-ier" than my F250, I know its a shorter wheelbase, and after a few hundred miles it may smooth out a bit, let all the components run in a bit, but right now, its a bouncy bitch.
Like em or not, that's reality.

Look on the side of your Door it will tell you the PSI it should be around 35psi stock my truck had 275/55/60 Perilli's =31"

I went to a bigger tire 275/65/20 BFG Rugged Terrians T/A's =34.1" they ride smoother then my ATR's that came with the truck, and I wrote BFG and they told me to put 40 PSI in them, and I had already done that.

The only thing I don't like is in the New ones 2012 you feel the road through the steering wheel because of the New Set up, but after a few weeks I don't even notice it now.

I just Love the way my Truck Handles and feel's even after adding 3" Leveling kit and 2.5" block and new Katzkin Leather

Compare this new truck to my wife's 2008 it blows it away, and I thought her truck rode like a dream when we got it.......

So not sure what you expect out of a truck, they have come alonggggggggggggg way for ride and comfort!!

I have a Supercharged GTP Grand Prix and that thing rides harsh it has a hard ride, made for driving and I love it too beacause its set up right!

give it a few weeks and then come back and tell us what you think.....

Cheers!

I traded in a 2011 Fusion on my new F150 SCrew 4x4 in July and mine was rough riding and I new I messed up. But you know I now have 7000 miles on it and I guess it's loosen up some because now it rides pretty good. If I can figure out what to do to make my seat feel better I will pretty happy with it. Hope this helps.

your Tire makes a Biggggggg Difference in your ride!!..If it is a Hard tires tougher side wall or a softer tire......the tires i changed to gave me a softer ride and plus I gained 1000lbs for my load range

Thanks everyone for the replies. I checked the pressure on the tires (Goodyear Wranglers) and they were all about 39 PSI. I will bleed them down to 35 psi (what the door sticker recommends) and see if that helps any.

Is the Goodyear considered a smooth riding tire? If I were to change them out what would y'all recommend?

I am new to trucks so I probably do need to calibrate my expectations. I think I am a little more sensitive to the ride due to carpal tunnel type issues in my hands and arms.

I hear ya on the hands I was rear-ended 5 yrs a go sitting at a stop sign, I have Muscle and Nerve damage in my arms, shoulders, back, legs, neck massive head ache's. they told me i had carpel tunnel for the last 4 yrs - not so - but we have narrowed it to Thurasic Outlet Syndrome - which mimicks Carpel Tunnel and it actually comes from my shoulders to my forearms and then to my hands...I have 2 tears in my left shoulder, in the muscle so can't fix it....

I feel your Pain F150 Brother! Im on Long term disablity from Sunlife and Canada Disablity Pension Plan -CPP, just put me on there so now they have basicly wrote me off.......I use to do Final grade with Grader, Dozer and Excavator, and Production Work Construction and Pipeline, so now I have to prove to them Im not a Libility to my Union, so I plan to prove them wrong!

I hear yeah on the hands, as to why I went with Katzkin leather and softer tires -

Go to Tire rack they have all the brands and the specs thats how I bought my tires, and then I reasearched the hell out of everything I buy! lowering the psi will help alot!!! Good Year makes a great tire! Ive had Wranglers in the past Great tire!

good luck!

Gerber, one thing I forgot to memtion. These trucks do have a bit of a jittery ride after you hit a bump. This is basicaly normal as Ford has placed rubber bushings between the cab and chassis, ironically to improve the ride.

I noticed a huge difference going from about 40 to 35. I had increased it some to pull my trailer but now keep them at 35.

I know what i expected when i bought a 2011 Platinum 150 ecoboost. I expected it to ride atleast as good as the 5 GM trucks i have owned in the past. Dont get me wrong, I live alot of things about my first Ford product. But the ride quality is not even close to what it should be for a 50k truck. Highway ride is fine, but as stated around town i can feel EVERY crack or inperfection in the road.
