Default 2012 Rough Ride?

I just got a new 2012 3.7L Supercrew XLT. I like everything about it except the ride which seems very rough. I can feel every imperfection in the rode when driving it.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to soften the ride? Thanks.

Compared to what? Trucks ride rougher than cars, maybe you are being too picky. What did you have before?

I hope you understand that you are driving a truck. My King Ranch with the offroad package rides significantly different than my Ecoboost Lincoln, but I knew that was going to be the case. Trucks have come a LONG way from back when they were purely utilitarian in purpose, but there is no hiding that it is a truck with heavy duty components that are designed to work first, play 2nd, and pamper you 3rd in that order. Just keep driving and you will get used to it as you will soon forget. It isn't that it is harsher, but it is definitely a different type of feel in the ride quality.

Gerber, my XLT Screw rides as smooth as anything I've owned. One quick thing you can do is check the tire pressure. If it's to high that could cause it to feel rough. Other than that I don't know what it could be.

Why would you buy a pickup then expect a smooth ride? That's like buying a Mustang and expect it to tow 12k lbs.

I hate the "what did you expect" posts, lol. Its the same over on the Diesel forums too, lol

check the air pressure. When I picked mine up from the stealer the tires were at 45psi, and apparently on these smaller trucks, 36-39 is about all you need. Thats a start.

I can tell you that this FX4 is a bit "jitter-ier" than my F250, I know its a shorter wheelbase, and after a few hundred miles it may smooth out a bit, let all the components run in a bit, but right now, its a bouncy bitch.
