HELP!!!
I have a 2012 F-150 FX4 SCREW with the factory Sony Radio with Nav.
The problem that I am having is when I put it into reverse, sometimes the Backup camera screen is Black and flickers. Sometimes I get a picture, but it has vertical lines. When either of these things happen, the guide lines are not present. Other times it works great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am having an issue with my NAV back up cam as well. 2011 Fx4. Screen has vertical lines but you can still see the picture, but it is reversed. No guidelines on picture either. When I go into settings, the options are there to turn on guidelines, etc. but nothing happens when you try to turn back on. Just bought the darn thing...

 

Probably the camera itself. Possibly the wiring connections, check both ends first since that is free. What do you mean reversed?

 

The picture is usually as you would see in the rearview mirror. When mine flakes out it the left side of the image is on the right. It worked once this morning and then was garbage after that. I will check the connections first. The cameras are expensive. Not sure why the one for the explorer is $55 and the one for the f150 is $300.

 

Since there are so many problems with this brand's backup camera, why not consider changing another brand, such as haloview with good cost performance and tadibrother whose price is high but the quality is good.

 

If it's not the connection from removing the tailgate, then my understanding is the issue is with the camera itself. You will need to replace the camera to fix this. I think I read that is means destroying the emblem on the gate to get it off. So you have to replace that too.
