Default 2012 Ecoboost Repeat vacuum pump failures.

Ive had the recall done on the vacuum pump. It failed again a year later. Ford told me tough luck, the recall was done.

Chucked an after market pump in. Failed again 2 years later.

Can you not chuck in any vacuum pump with your own connector? Could I not get a different pump that makes 16inhg and mount it up in the engine bay away from the water? These pumps are 600+$ in canada.

Anyone have any custom fixes or upgrades they have done to fix this issue?

Default Replacement brake vacuum pumps

Electric vacuum pump in my 2011 Ecoboost hasn’t failed (yet) but it is noisy.

Looking around there seem to be aftermarket brake vacuum pump options for a replacement. I am looking at CVR VP665 for when mine fails. Haven’t checked yet but from the dimensions it may fit behind the driver side headlight.

Honestly the reason they fail is because they are behind the headlight. Water slams them and they sieze up. Relocate the stoke pump higher into the engine bay and I bet it wouldn't fail.

Those are cheaper then the $700 they cost here.
Ford wants 1000 for just the pump. Tried 3 dealers.

The pump only has 2 wires. A power and a ground. No sensors. So I see no reason why I couldn't put a generic pump up by the booster. Any vacuum pu l that's able to keep up and create the same vac should be enough

EXACTY the same here.2012 F150 ecoboost , with under 62k miles. First pump went a couple years ago ,dealer replaced ($13 or $1400) Never said anything about recall. I just had it replaced again yesterday, (went to a local shop who I trust 100% more then the dealer) $1100.
So thats why Im here searching on WHY its failing. And what can I do to stop it from happening again.

Refurbished/reman Ford pumps have come way down in price, which is expected with age. Do an eBay search for "BL34-2A451-BA" or "A426K" and you'll find several options below $200. I found that these F150 electric pumps from Ford are high-volume, high-capacity pumps that build vacuum faster than aftermarket or other OEM (GM, etc). Ford did this for two reasons: 1) turbo application requires secondary vacuum source to support braking function and 2) IWE requires constant vacuum for 4x4 to remain disengaged. Hope this helps

Agree check eBay and Marketplace I'm on my 3rd one in 6ish years it sucks but I never paid more than $150 for one. I've had my current one since September 2025 so I'm hoping for a couple years out of it. $106 on eBay.
