The advent looks less complicated with extra wiring. If anyone has some words of wisdom, I'd love a pros/cons list. I return to the States in about 2 1/2 weeks and would prefer this to be waiting for me as my first project (other than jet lag recovery).

I installed the Advent 3 1/2 years ago in my 2011. If you have the basic radio, you are good to go. Sony system it most likely will not work. Advents are hard to come by at this time. I do not believe they are made anymore. I got mine new from ADC Mobile.

Easy install. PNP install. Works great with Sync and factory SAT radio. When I ordered the radio, I got the Ford OEM backup camera. GPS is good. Only complaint on GPS is it does not automatically find alternate routes to busy roads. Can do it manually though.

Really enjoy the sound and functionality of the Advent.

This is a good word. I emailed Walt at ADC Mobile. They have a few new units left and they are on sale. I think he said 13. Those are the "last new units in the world." Not sure what that means moving forward but he also said they are selling about 2 a day so they won't last long. I picked one up with the emblem backup cam so, other than doing the install, I guess I'm set. Got Walt's install video and the video for the camera. That should walk me through.

I appreciate all the input and the help. The forum is a great place to find out all those things you needed to know but didn't even know you needed to know. Good people too.

Walt's videos are very informative. As an FYI, I mounted the GPS antenna as he suggested. Under that dash behind the glove box. There is a small clip that needs to be removed from the factory SAT antenna cable to connect to the new SAT tuner.

I do like the Garmin maps on the Kenwood. Sale at crutchfield ends tomorrow. The Advent looks simpler to install. Any of you with experience know pros and cons that would help me make the decision?
I just installed the advent system. It was super easy. And I took step by step pictures. This system works flawless. I couldn't be happier. Especially with the 200.00 price tag.
