Default 2012 Alarm too sensitive

For the last few weeks my factory alarm has become very sensitive. I park or start up my car parked next to the truck and the truck alarm goes off.
I searched the forum and found this:

=====
If your Alarm System is the OEM FORD VSS (Vehicle Security System), it will have a Sensitivity Adjustment **** on the unit which is accessible through the access panel, driver's side, with the door opened, adjacent to the light switch. Pull the panel out by pulling it from the vent hole. It will pivot a bit. Then take a peek inside. You should see a box with the adjustment ****. It may be set at the most sensitive setting. Turn the **** the opposite direction and test. You dealer should have given you the manual for it also.
=====

I have opened the access panel on the driver's side and do not have anything next to the light switch or an obvious box with a **** on it. Is this box in a different location on a 2012 XLT??

This is making me crazy. I have to carry my truck key with me because I know starting my car will set off the truck alarm.

Thanks,
Andrew

I had to call the dealer. They said it was no charge but would not tell me how over the phone. Alarm box was located behind the glove-box up and to the left. took 5 min to adjust.

I'm glad to hear that this has been resolved, Andrew. I can totally understand how this would have driven you crazy! If you have any questions moving forward, I'll be just a private message away.

Have a great day!

Brittany

Clockwise or counterclockwise to decrease sensitivity?

not sure. I didn't see. but it is still happening. Seems like he did not turn it down enough. I'll have to make another adjustment. I'm assuming I'll turn counter clockwise.
