I picked up a cheap set of fx4 factory take offs machined faced rim.. My question is I picked these up to use in the winter and currently have 285 65 mounted on them..my truck has a 6" lift and these tires look silly ..way to small and narrow... But they almost rub the control arm with the width they currently are with the offset in these rims.. What is the largest size size I could run.. WITHOUT WHEEL SPACERS.."never attempted using them" I'm currently looking at 295 70's terra graps.. Giving me 34" tall and only 11.77 wide... Would they rub?

Welp .... Given that your current 285/65x18 spec's are ...
  • 32.6" - diameter.
  • 11.5" - width
I'd say YA (they're probably could/gonna rub).

good year wrangler m/ts has a 35 x11r18. i forget what the metric dimension but it's a true 35. my buddy runs them on is ram 3500. the only problem is the tires have kevlar in them and they are really expensive.

285/75-18's on those wheels fit with just a level kit and no rubbing.

It looks like 285 75 18 is the perfect size thx...never was a fan of Goodyear but like stated The Wrangler MT/R is the only tire I see in that size.. As for these rims are for the winter....MT's wouldn't be the best choice but there surprisingly light at 65 lbs..I might just have to sell these coopers at3's and try these out

Thx.. I forgot about toyo... I was on tire rack...& they don't have some brands.... Open country MT is 75 lbs but the at2 is only at 65 lbs... Looks like a better "winter" tire and allot cheaper to go with

Still don't know if that will give you the height you need with a 6" lift though
