The regulator and cable assembly is pretty hidden the way they pack those things in place. On the Chevy I did remove the seat. Wasn't all that bad. Sounds like your issue could be a bad switch or a wiring issue at the motor or drive motor it's self. When my cable broke I could manually close the window by hand and open it with switch.

This has happened a few times before and I just rattled the window a bit and it would close. This time, no dice at all.
Since it worked intermittently before it quit, I'd almost bet it's the switch. Probably has some dirty contacts. Anyways, of all the parts involved, it's the easiest thing to test. Just get a $5 test light at Walmart, pull the switch and see if any juice is going to the window when you try to close it. If not, replace the switch and you'll be good to go.

You can also check the continuity of the switch in both positions- opening and closing. Just use the ohms scale on a volt meter.

I had my rear slider stop functioning after several months of it intermitently working. First dealership had the truck for 6 hours and tried all kinds of stuff couldn't figure it out, second dealership took a minute, as soon as the service guy hopped in the truck and hit the switch he said yep switch is bad and sure enough it was. Ofcourse the had to order it so had to wait three days and make another trip to the dealership but atleast it works now.( I have a 2009, fyi).

thanks for the replies. Took it to the service dept this AM. they had me out in a loaner car in less than 30 minutes, identified the problem as the switch being bad, and will have the truck back tomorrow. Much less painful than i feared it would be.

Sorry for the necro thread bump. I had this problem with my 2011 F150 Platinum. Rear slider would open, but not close. Read here about the switch, ordered one from Amazon on Friday delivered on Sunday, BOOM, all working again!!

This is what I ordered for future reference for $30
