Default 2011 FX4 shock recommendations

Looking to upgrade my shocks after 60k miles.
I was going to go with the Bilstein 5100s but do not plan on leveling truck at all...and from what I've found would be close to $500.
This is in Canada tho so as usual we pay too much for Everything!
Looking for a good all round shock that's a bit cheaper ....

I'd look at the Bilstein HDs (4600 series). They're a great upgrade to our trucks. I've used them on my last 3 trucks. But any OE replacement will be a big improvement over your tired originals.

Did you try Essex distributors? They have a website that specifically sells bilstiens and they are Canadian in bc I think. That's where I got my 5100's for my 08 and now I'm getting them for my 11. They also have the 4000 series

Yes I did....
That's where the 5100s will be pushing $500 when they get here.
I don't really need the adjustability of the 5100s.....didn't really look at their other shocks.
Interested in the Rancho shocks too....

After a lot of digging and a few mis steps I got some new shocks on.
Went with the Pro Comp brand.
The stock shocks were complete wasted.....no rebound at all and mushy compression.
The ride is noticeably firmer now and no where near as tipsy....
Cant believe how bad the stock shocks were.

Spend the money on a good shock that will last and improve the ride and handeling.
Buy the Bilsteins! You don't have to use the adjustment part on the fronts, the lowest setting is stock height. I put the 5100s on my truck at 5000 miles and it made a huge difference.

Even at that price range, I don't believe there is another shock that is near as good.

The Pro Comps are on and I'm happy with them.
The fronts were adjustable....I left them at stock setting but it did appear to raise front up a bit still.
The Bilstein 5100s were more over $100 more for the set up here.
