Default 2011 F150 Front OEM 110V/12volt Plug

Hey,

Google has failed.

http://www.road-reality.com/wp-conte...ashboard-2.jpg

If you look at the above picture, on the right side below the SINGLE 12volt Cigarette lighter power point there is an empty space. I've seen trucks with a 110v-400Watt/12volt dual plug, but for the life of me I can NOT find the part.

I found this: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...er-fl3z19a487c

which another thread directed me too but it isn't for a 2011.

Is this a feature only for newer models?

It's not a feature at all. Some people have added switches, power plugs, etc to that cubby. But not Ford.

Oh, and the 2015+ trucks have the 400w up front like that, our generation has it in the center console, essentially in the back seat area. Not sure for 6-passenger or single cab, where it might be, if at all.

Agree. 2011 only had one 110v in the rear of the center console

Thanks everyone.

I assume there is no plug behind it then?

Hijacking your thread for a minute, sorry!

I replaced my 110 plug that's on the back of my 2014's center console, because that little green light wasn't coming on., nor was the plug working.
The cover spring was broken and I assumed that was the cause of it not allowing it to turn on.
I installed a new plug which has the cover on it. The plug works fine now, but that little green power light still doesn't turn on.

Anyone else experience thisnor know why it's acting like that. Not a big deal since the plug works, just curious.

You mean, some available wire behind there? Nothing directly for the cubby. There's stuff you could tap, perhaps. But if you are installing an inverter, I'm assuming a new line to the battery is best, regardless.

I keep my screen cloth in there. Of course, I have an inverter already in the console.

The reason these “go bad” is because they are very cheap plugs. If you side load the plug while plugged in, you bend the internal contacts. You can take it apart and bend them back tight.

I just installed an OEM inverter in my 13 XLT and mounted the plug in the space where that cubby is/was.

The power wire was already run from the fuse box under the hood to the drivers side kick panel. I just had to get a pin for the connector to make a clean connection. I also had to tap two wires at the BCM and run them to the inverter. I created my own harness from the inverter to the plug and purchased the pigtail for the plug to keep everything clean.

The '13 and older trucks came with a lame 100w outlet. Good for charging stuff (camera battery, handheld HAM radio, laptop, etc.). For something more, I fixed the problem this way (behind the passenger side back seat):

A Xantrex 1000w Pure Sine Wave inverter, direct wired with 2ga wire. Run everything from microwaves to blenders

I would like to see that. Like I mentioned earlier I have one on the back of my console, but that cubby sitting empty for almost 4 year's has bugged me since day one.
