2011 EcoBoost recommendations
So I just purchased a 2011 SCREW FX4 with 75k on the clock. I'm not new to vehicle modifications, engine work, etc, but I'm new to forced induction. So with the truck having 75k what do you recommend me doing to make sure this motor is AJ squared Away. I just bought it Monday might, this is my list of things to do:
Brake Pads and Rotors changed (done)
Oil and filter change (this weekend) Motorcraft 5w-30
Fuel Filter change (this weekend)
Air Filter Change (this weekend) (stock paper? read that's the best route)
Anything else you can recommend. There are no aftermarket performance mods on the truck. Just a weird two way switch on the dash that I have no idea what it does to yet. To freakin cold out to mess around with it.

I recommend checking and smelling the oil before you change it. Check for overfill and fuel smell. These engines tend to dump a lot of fuel into the crankcase, causing the oil to break down, eventually leading to timing chain/cam phaser failure. There is a TSB on the fuel in oil issue, as well as a TSB on the timing chain issue. Check it out and make sure yours is looked after!

Replace the spark plugs! I did this on my 2011 Eco and gained nearly 2mpg. The old plugs were gapped around .040-.045. New ones gapped at .035 made it run smoother with the MPG gains.

Ok so what if I do find overfill and fuel smell in the fuel? Change it and run with it or what?
I looked at the recalls for my vin and only saw one listed Electric vacuum repair.
Guess I'll look up some TSB

What's the recommended spark plugs for the EB. I just run cheap copper plugs in my Jeep (runs better).
