2011 Door Panel Removal
Anyone have a link to a detailed description on removing the door panels of a 2011 Super Cab? I tried searching the forum, can't find one. I saw one couple days ago for a 2010 but didn't book mark it, don't even know if it was on f150.com. I got some speakers to upgrade the OEMs. I searched the stereo forum too-no luck. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link, worked like the OP in that linked post said. You nead a 5/16th socket for the bolts on the front door inside the door handle and arm rest. All the other bolts are 1/4. The bolts for the speakers are 7/32nd. When tightening the speaker bolts, go slow/be patient-I stripped out one of the little plastic clips, not the threads, but where it clips to the door frame.
Also, like the original poster said, use a set of plastic auto upholestery tools, not screwdrivers to pop stuff off. I scratched one of the rear door panels (super cab, not crew) pretty bad. Patience, of which I don't have enough, is also really needed to get the rear super cab door panels BACK ON, this also contributed to the scratching. Now I need to ask about how best to fix the scratches......
The Kenwood KFC-C6893PS I put in sound MUCH better than the OEM Ford speakers.

Door Removal
Hey all in regards to the door removal in this post and the video link. To change the stock speakers with new speakers, can't you just remove the grill piece that is covering the speaker instead of removing the whole door?
Asking in regards to a 2011 F150.
Thanks!

^ you would think but i switched mine out for some new 6x8s and i didn't look like you could get that grill off without tearing it up. also FYI to anybody doing a speaker swap, the speakers have a special end to each speaker so you will need an adapter unless you want to cut the ends off which i wouldn't to do. you can get them at bestbuy surprisingly.

Thanks killingswitch! I'm glad you let me know because I would have tried that! Killingswitch, in your opinion do you know if changing out the speakers are worth it even if I wouldn't be adding an amp, just a head unit?

Yes, it will be worth it. The factory speakers are paper coned. I'm going to use the link to install my tow mirrors and speakers tomorrow.

I changed my speakers the other day, the video above is very helpful.
The doors are real easy to take apart. I think it took maybe 2 hours total to get the doors off, replace the speakers and put it all back together.
I replaced the factory sony speakers with Alpine Type R 6x8s in all 4 doors and put polyfil in the sub box. The stereo sounds much better now.
