Default 2011 BCM problems. Please help!

Hey all,

Truck has been randomly refusing to start over the past 2 years in cold weather. Been to 3 mechanics and have yet to have the issue resolved, they all get the truck running but cant tell me what the problem is. The most recent mechanic was the local Ford dealer and they told me I had a faulty BCM. New part is backordered and no estimate could be provided, so I went to my local wreckers and pulled a BCM out of an identical 2011 5.0L. They put in the used part and reprogrammed it and it is still having issues. They are now blaming my used part as the problem (convenient lol). I've been fooling around with the truck since I'm waiting god knows how long for a replacement part, and I discovered that I can get the truck to start when I wiggle some of the BCM connectors around (I leave the key in and once I hear the door chime start I know it's happy and can turn the engine over). I've disconnected all the connectors and gave them a clean with contact cleaner but the issue persists. I can half *** reliably start my truck whenever I want, but I dont know what the hell is going on with the wiring/BCM/connectors. Should I try to re terminate all the connectors? Possibly a loose wire? Maybe a bad ground? Any thoughts on this topic are greatly appreciated. My 5.0 still has alot of life in her and I'd love to take her all the way to engine failure lmfao.

Thanks in advance!

There is a ground terminal on the body near or behind the BCM. It won't hurt to clean it and tighten it back up. I would also pull the connector from the BCM and look it over. Sometimes the wire can back out of the connector plug . Look them over and be sure they are all seated the same depth in the connector. As you know it could be a broken wire too. If you can I D the connector your messing with that might help.
