my shudder gets worse as the weather warms up. was almost completly gone in the very cold days. mine is shuddering as the tach goes past 1800rpms.

i just got back from dealer. mechanic said he can not feel any shudder. i told him around 1800 rpms it bogs and shudders. we took another 5.0 supercab off the lot and it was so smooth, no shudder, no bog. i think i need to find another dealer for warranty work. it feels like the truck my truck is misfiring at low rpm.

I've got an 11 screw 5.0 that has the "miss" around 1800 rpm. It happens in different gears at different speeds so I think it's related to the rpms? It seems worse when it rains too. I took it to the dealer this week and of course they could not replicate the miss and said there were no codes. I'm gonna go back and have someone ride along so maybe I can point out the obvious. Any suggestions other than being persistent with the dealer?

Same problem here..... Haven't been to the dealer yet.

I just got back from dealer and there was NO new program so they didn't flash my truck again. It's raining again today so they took truck for a drive and replicated the "merging full throttle, fall on its' face trick". I think it has been mentioned on here before, but there is a TSB for water/moisture in the intercooler but Ford of course doesn't have a fix for it yet.

once someone gets into an accident and decides a nice little lawsuit like the Ford Pinto lawsuit, they make change their tune. Or who knows maybe they are hard at work on it right now. I can't imagine what they would to do drain the condensation out, or prevent it.

As far as why there doesn't appear to be that many EB owners with issues, I don't think we know that?

I mean what percentage of owners are members here?

---- I suspect not very high.

How many drive on a slight uphill grade @ 55mph regularly enough to notice shudder?

---- I only have about a 1/2 dozen places here where I live that will cause it and it doesn't happen every time even then.

How many people drive in colder climates vs. not?

---- MPG problems seem more pronounced in colder areas. Warmer climates may not have the problems or at least not as pronounced.

How many people drive in wetter climates vs. not?

---- The fall on its face problem seems to be related to cruising awhile in high humidity or increasing humidity or high humidity under falling temps which sure sounds like turbo related condensation to me.

How many people care or notice?

---- I love my wife dearly but I can assure you she doesn't pay any attention to the MPG readout in our Volvo and probably wouldn't notice the shudder problem in my truck unless it did it repeatedly for a long ways. She goes from point A to B, usually in a hurry. I drove the Volvo the other day and the average MPG was only 14.5 when I got in it. It's rated 17/22. I reset it to see if the car had developed a problem? Went about 50 miles and I had 19.5 on it when I got back home mostly city driving. Not a problem. Just the wife's driving.

My truck on the other hand . . . once my MPGs started going to crap I started doing everything in my power to maximize MPGs only romping it enough to keep the cobs blown out. Doesn't matter. Below 40 it just sucks period to the tune of 5-6mpg. 50-80 degrees recently it's getting better but still down over 3mpg from when I got it.

Probably plenty of other variables working here too I haven't even thought of!

i really am starting to hate my truck. i hate driving it when its warm out. it is a little better at night when it's cooler. i dont know if these mechanics are really bad or they are told to ignore the obvious.

I am new to the forums now of about 2 months. My truck is a 2012 XL with some of the XLT package, 3.73 rear, Eco boost, 4x4 6 speed auto with the option of manual shifting. I also have the heavy duty payload tow option. It is the standard cab and (8’) bed. I have the stock tires and a full skid plate. I also have the A.R.E. cap that is of the wedge design.

I now have 255 miles on it. I ask the dealer when the truck was manufactured and he told me that it was ready for delivery 1.31.2012. I took delivery on the truck 2.23.2012 when it showed up at the dealer.

I live in the western part of WV, in the Mid Ohio Valley area. I-77 has plenty of hills that will cause the truck to down shift into 5th gear. Speed limit on I-77 is 70mph. I live 20miles from the dealer and I haven’t felt any 55-60mph shuddering with the cruise on or off. I haven’t felt any miss firing either. I have even tried what others have stated was the bog issues. When I entered the merge ramp on I-77 S and there wasn’t any on coming traffic, I punched it and I was surprised with the peddle reaction, talk about a chit and git I haven’t felt this kind of power in over 40 years, and even then, I was running small block V-8’s with 4bbl

I have had temps since I have taken possession of the truck between freezing and now into the upper 80*s.

My gas mpg was as low of 14.8 and is now up to 16.9. My only guess is that is should go up even higher. I don’t know if the cap will hold me back from gaining the higher mileage after my first tank full. My old ’89 Lariat F-150 straight 6, 4-speed standard only gave me 15mpg on hwy and city driving.

The only thing I do notice is when taking off, I feel a slight rear wheel, wheel hop, and I know it isn’t breaking traction.

The only warranty service that I need, is the driver’s side door rattles to the frame.

I am very happy camper so far on the purchase of my truck.

I will let you know how the truck react within the next couple of weeks when I have to pick up 2500 lbs of feed that will be in the bed of the truck driving on the same stretch of I-77.

I'm thinking of soldering a petcock in the bottom of my intercooler just to have a way of draining the thing. I'll post up if and when I do and let y'all know how it works.
