Have them check the part numbers in reference to TSB 11-11-11
I'm not convinced its a tranny issue, but that is what the service guys are thinking right off the bat. They claimed they have had very few issues with the EB and many issues with the tranny that the entire F-150 line plus other models use. I'll let you know what I find out.
TSB 11-11-11 is only for trucks built before 12/20/10, the end of last year, well before the first EcoBoost was built. That particular TSB, nor the solenoid parts it describes replacing, would be applicable.

TSB 11-10-15 is also a transmission TSB, Harsh Shifting. Trucks built before 4/15/2011, so I think some EcoBoosts would be in that range. Just a transmission reflash.

Either way, the problem doesn't seem to be the same as the one described in this thread, which so far seems isolated to the 5.0 engine and abnormal misfire detection.

pfbz, bob mac had the same issues as I have with my truck. He has the 5.0 and I have an eb. I have also felt the shuddering above 70 mph. It seems the problem happens in 6th gear under a slight load. The only thing I don't have a are actual misfires. I believe this thread includes any issue dealing with a shudder between 50 and 60 mph not just trucks with 5.0 engines

I think I am having the same issues as everyone else. I have a bad shutter in 6th gear at around 55 mph. I'm just reporting that my dealer is suggesting that it is caused by a tranny problem and not a misfire (which I don't buy at this point). I am still thinking the misfire issue sounds more plausable. My truck was built in mid May 2011.

Guys,

Does anybody feel the same acceleration shudder while slowing down on the brakes? I do.

Are you guys sure the shuddering isn't the torque converter locking and unlocking rapidly?

Forget the date range, why? My truck was built on 12/15/2010 and I had the infamous tranny leak and had the pump and seals replaced! On my 2009 I had issues that were not in the TSB date ranges as well!

I agree on the misfire! I had my high solenoids replaced, a reflash and thought my 55-60mph shudder was gone and then the shudder came back.

My wife and I did a lot of traveling yesterday from Denver, NC to Concord, NC and around here (Denver) we have a few hills to go up and down to get to Concord and I was unable to get it to shudder. Since the "Misfire Neutral Profile Correction" I have NOT had the shudder resurface. I am very optomistic that it is indeed fixed!

Edit: One thing I would also like to add to this. I am not sure if the fix they applied to my truck is indeed the correct fix or a bandaid for a bigger issue. I am now throwing a code P0315 and not sure if the tech left something out in the re-learn process or as I stated this is just a bandaid fix. I would love if Ford would contact me regarding my truck and the shuddering to hear what they really think their final fix is going to be.

I have had the same issue as you noted. 2011 XTR with 18" LT tires. I knew these tires would run rougher than the normal P tires most trucks came with. At 20 thous. KM - Ford replaced both my rear tires - what was interesting is that both rear tires were significantly worn in the middle. The truck shook at 90 km and also at 120 km. - was told it was a tire issue. Have not had a chance to really check if it still shakes at 120. Know I am wondering if what I am feeling is the "Shuddering".

Is what everyone else feeling / describing anything like a shake? If not - what does this "missing/shudder" feel like?- this has probably been answered before so I appologize if it has - but I really am getting fed up with all the issues.

Thanks for all the info. Thank goodness for this forum!!!!!!!

Would this feel something like a wheel or tire problem? When I picked the truck up, coming down the highway at around 55-60 mph I first noticed a shake in the truck. To me, it felt like the wheels were loose, not balanced properly or that maybe I had a bad tire. I thought that maybe the dealer hadn't torqued down the 20's, so much so that I pulled off the highway, dug out the tire iron and checked the lugnuts; all seemed fine, I just thought maybe I needed to break in the truck (tires could have been slightly flat-spotted from sitting on the lot for a while). The problem seemed to disappear after that until it returned today; around 50-60 mph, and VERY noticable. I chalked it up to snow and ice build-up in the underbody (there was a ton of **** packed in there) and even some snow and ice build-up in the wheels themselves which could have easily thrown the wheels out of balance. I pulled it into the heated shop and washed everything out underneath and the problem seems to be gone again. I'm wondering if this shudder sensation feels anything like what I'm describing; as if you had a wheel loose, out of balance or flat spotted. I don't neccesarily feel the shudder in my sterring wheel, more like the whole truck just shakes. I'll definitely be paying closer attention to what it feels like, and what conditions seem to cause it. Thanks for the info.

I'm taking my truck in in the morning to get the shudder checked out but I wanted to see if anyone else noticed an improvement with premium gas. I drove 220 miles today with a second consecutive tank of premium and the shudder was almost non existent. On regular I can get it to shudder at will. Now I'm afraid the dealer won't be able to recreate the shudder since there is half a tank of premium left in the truck.
