Recently traded my 2011 RAM1500 Laramie on a 2013 Ecoboost FX4, had zero issues with the RAM but after owning a two since 2009 I just wanted to try something different, never had either into the dealer for anything. After reading the posts on this forum it looks like the main difference is I will be getting to know my local Ford service department better lol.

Anyhow, a friend of mine is a service manager at one of the local dealers and I figured since my truck was built before the magic 9/18/12 cutoff date I have read about on the forums (9/11 build on the window sticker) I would be proactive and get the newer CAC/flash. It appears according to a newer OASIS message that I have already have the newer '13 CAC, so I figured I'd wait for something to happen before a reflash since the truck runs fine and is getting decent mileage, not going to fix what isnt broke just yet.

edit: Forgot the date the on the window sticker is not the actual production date, its usually a week or so later so that puts me darn close to the 9/18 date.

The OASIS message:

6062 -2011-2013 F-150 - 3.5L GTDI - Intermittent Stumble/Misfire On Acceleration From Highway Cruise In Humid Or Damp Conditions With Possible DTC

Wednesday, May 15, 2013 8:00 PM

Some 2011-2013 F-150 equipped with 3.5L gasoline turbocharged direct injection (GTDI) engines may exhibit an intermittent stumble and/or misfire on hard acceleration after extended drive at highway speeds during extreme humid or damp conditions. Vehicle may also exhibit steady or flashing malfunction indicator lamp with Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0304, P0305, P0306 in the PCM. Before attempting repair, inspect the vehicle to see if the updated Charge Air Cooler (CAC) (Engineering Part BL34-9L440-AE for 2011-2012 Model Year and DL34-9L440-AC/AD for 2013 Model Year) and CAC Deflector CL34-19E672-BA are installed. If the latest CAC is not installed, refer to applicable TSB 13-3-3, 12-11-15. If the latest CAC is installed, replacing the CAC again will not correct this condition. Engineering is investigating; continue to monitor OASIS for further updates.

Idiot light came on Sat and I took the truck in this morning, soonest they could get it in, of course on the way in the light went off but they called this afternoon and said it needs a new Charge Air Cooler. Hope it is ready tomorrow, sucks being down a truck.

So long as the misfire codes are there, you just have to make sure to tell them the exact shudder/loss of power symptoms included in the TSB.

Ditto!! Totally unacceptable. Bought this truck BECAUSE of the power. The re flash of latest TSB robs the power and the truck misses EVERY morning, but service dept finds nothing wrong. Gonna try to get Ford to buy it back and ill get a platinum with a 5.0.
