The guy is just a backyard mechanic idiot who thinks he knows it all, "it's the plugs or muffler bearing or the nut behind the wheel." etc. Do as I do and just ignore his babbling posts. This guy is just a squirrel.

But you ARE correct in that I do get preferrential treatment with the Ford technicians and field engineers. Speaking their language (while understanding it of course) and simply BEING NICE usually do wonders, regardless of what you're trying to accomplish.
Oh and I have far more important uses for my backyard, thanks.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: If one were to compile all of the empirical evidence many on here are claiming to be "hard facts," they would have destroyed their own case long ago. Examples of this would be the many trucks (myself included) who have had the loss of power events occur during moderately warm summer days with no humidity, ethanol/non-ethanol and octane ratings/fuel blends, plug heat range changes, and intentional attempts to trigger CELs/DTCs.
The fact that you are eligible for a replacement intercooler does not necessarily mean you have an issue, are experiencing the problems the updated parts are meant to correct, or will have your problems corrected by the updated parts. This is not an "all-encompassing" fix that the majority of people with these issues are making it out to be.
You should know by now to check your flux capacitor first.

if it was as simple as the plugs, why would Ford spend so much money on new intercooler designs then? my work truck is going in today for the 5th time to get it's 3rd intercooler... wouldnt it be cheaper for the dealer to replace the plugs if that's all there is to it?
just curious.

Went in this morning and had buddy I used to work with check out truck. Didn't show any codes. He told me he would order new inter cooler and piece to block the top of the inter cooler which is supposed to cancel off the moisture problem. Didn't have any problems with having CAI or exhaust mods. The service guys know there is a prob with the ecoboost and are doing what ford tells them. Was happy with the service I received and appreciate doing business with ford for that reason. Will be about a week before my parts are in. Still driving until then. Was warned if there happened to be moisture and have been driving awhile in it to watch out on accelerating too much.
Ford F150 is still a great truck and happy with it. If this doesn't solve problem I am sure my dealership will do me right and do their best to help me.

Hey Guys, I'm in Tampa, FL and had the same issues. Took my 2012 Platinum to dealer with check engine light on. They said it was the catalytic converter and some other part. The parts were supposed to be available after January 11th. They called me today and said the parts wouldn't be available until late March. So I have to continue driving a brand new truck with the check engine light on, who knows what else will happen. Anyone have a similar issue? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

I thought this thread was about the 5.0 not the Ecoboost? Isnt there another thread about the ecoboost issues? I was interested in the 5.0 info but now it is all mixed up and hard to follow.
This thread needs to be deleted and started again and kept ONLY about the 5.0 shudder issues.
Opps... my bad... I just read the title again.... Still... we need a thread about the 5.0 issues and a seperate one about the ecoboost issues. Impossible to follow like this.

I agree, its hard to differentiate the different issues, but I think most of the bugs are worked out at this point anyways. To sum it up:
- Ecoboost shuddering/shaking/bogging/misfiring seems to be resolved with the new CAC's
- Other engines including the Ecoboost are seeing less shuddering due to better programming. I mention the Ecoboost here because I don't believe everyone that feels the shuddering is related to the Condensation issue. Some people are associating it with the condensation, but it is related to the tranny/torque converter/programming

I have the ever so slight shuddering with my 5.0. Twice at the dealer they do not seem to care anythign about addressing it. Can anyone on here comfirm they have had an updated program that resolved it?
