I know the part isn't brown...but you do not have a piece on your CAC that covers the top few inches of the front side of the CAC. All you can see on yours are the fins, if you had the plate these would be covered.

The red outlined area should be covered with the deflector if you had it.

Sorry about the image quality, but this is a cropped and zoomed portion of that previous print screen. That image is from a post about this TSB in the engine forum, btw.
You can see it is attached on the leading edge of the IC and overlaps the existing deflector on the top.

Well my service manager/tech disagree. They say according to the TSB the deflector is the one I already have that blocks the back of the IC near the top. Not sure what else I can do to convince them otherwise. And who's to say there are incorrect?

This should be CLARIFIED in the TSB itself. As you can see my 2012 built Nov 2011 has the one deflector that blocks the rear of the IC. Dealers are going to think this is the defector they are referring to in the TSB.

Then your service manager is just a dumbass. You don't even have to be able to read to be able to see the part that the TSB calls for. You do not have it, 100% certainty. Print out the pics on here and show them, or take it somewhere else. I wouldn't even want someone who can't interepret a diagram working on my vehicle.

Definitely goes over the front you can tell from the boost tube at the bottom right hand side just like its sitting in the truck.

Dealer finally verified it's a new piece that goes on the front of the IC The TSB needs to clarify to dealers the deflector goes on the front as most tech's will glance at the diagram and based on the wording of the TSB they'll think the rear deflector is what the TSB is referring to.

On the flip side my dealer said they can't even order the part yet as it doesn't show up in their system so they are going to contact ford directly. I don't blame the dealer as I can see where the TSB could be confusing.

If most of us can tell the difference looking at copies of copies blown up and blurry, then surely a dealer should be able to see the original image on their Ford application that they can actually zoom in. Plus there are hot links on the part numbers within the TSB to take them to the new parts. You have a lazy dealer in my opinion, but hopefully it was a rare mistake by them.

The TSB has an image, with a forward facing intercooler unit(just as it would sit in a truck) with an arrow pointed to a highlighted part on the front of the CAC. Not sure how it can be more clear honestly. You must really like these guys.

Here is a better image I found. The new piece is the part labelled "A".
