Default 2011 5 liter oil capacity

Owners manual states 7.7 quarts. So at an oil/filter change .7 quarts would be 32ozs. X .7 = 22.4ozs. So total oil at a oil/filter change is 7 quarts 22.4ozs. Correct? What a handy total.

Yea, When I changed my oil, I put in a full 7.7 quarts. Dunno what ur doing with ur math there. *nvm I see it now* YES its a wierd number.

But also, another thing is it takes a while for the oil to fully settle in these engines. the first time i checked the dipstick it was still reading low. I put it back in and checked it like 5 mins later and it was reading right on full.

that's correct...7 quarts + 22.4 ozs. OR 246.4 quarts total. lol

That is a terrible total. They could have easily made the engine hold .3 more quarts, or .2 less

So 7.5 quarts would be easier than 7.7??

I have seen decimals used in other ways at times. Although incorrectly. I was wondering if they were trying to say 7.7 quarts was 7 quarts 7ozs. I know that's not 7.7 quarts but I have seen decimals used in that fashion before. Just checking.
