Default 2011-2014 Upper Grill

I just purchased a 2011 F-150 XLT and it has this 6-bar upper grill (pictured with Texas logo that I'll soon replace with the Ford emblem, no offense to TX). I'd consider replacing the 6-bar look if I knew I could put the black 2014 grill (also pictured) in its place. This is my first F-150, so I'm a bit ignorant. Will that 2014 upper grill fit onto my 2011?

Thanks!

You can swap the whole assembly. When you have trouble is trying to swap out just the center part of the grille into a different surround. My understanding is the 2013/2014 surrounds with the C clamp grille (bottom picture) had a different surround than previous years.

Makes sense. Would the "whole assembly" just be the chrome edges or would that include the black mesh underneath as well? Also, any good recommendations on where I could purchase the full assembly to install would be greatly appreciated!

You have to buy the surround and center grille assembly together. Unless of course you find it used and someone separates them.

I've outlined the whole assembly.

The lower grille, between the two black bread loafs is sold separately.

You can check craigslist for a used grille, I've been looking off and on for a couple of years with no luck. Something on the forums here might pop up for sale. I Ended up just buying it new on e-bay because I had no luck getting a used one. Mine is currently at the shop to get the surround painted.

The grille you have on your truck looks like a one-piece grille. I say that because my FX4 had the same grille on it when I purchased it used. I replaced it with a proper color FX4 c-clamp grille (2 pieces) and aside from some broken clips up top, everything matched up. I used some plastidip and coated the 6 bar grille insides black and it gave it a nice look. Only reason to change is if you want the color match outside.
