Don't get discouraged, and don't be afraid to walk away without buying a truck. I went home after the first night of negotiating, and started internet shopping other deals because the salesmen and I couldn't get the numbers to work. The next morning, I got a call from a sales manager, who increased the offer for my trade.

Let them know that you like the truck, but you don't HAVE to buy it now; this will usually get them moving l little quicker in the negotiating.

Good luck

I got $4000 off sticker plus $3500 in rebates on my '10 FX4 w/ luxury package. And I ordered it. I went to a dealer I had a good relationship with. But I also requested quotes via internet to see if I could do any better and got two other quotes within $500 of what I paid. I would shoot for at least 10% off sticker plus rebates.

Ask the salesman to see the invoice or if they don't have the vehicle or can't locate one, have them find the invoice for a vehicle that is equipped similarly to compare. The invoice should show all price categories, invoice, A, D, X, and Z plan, and retail prices. It should also show the holdback.

Default I just bought a 2010 F150 King Ranch

I just bought a 2010 F150 King Ranch with all the Extra stuff that is offered with that Pickup. Including the 499.00 paint job of White Platinum and the 20" wheels. 4X4 as well, the MSRP was 49,000.00 The dealer came down to 38,000 but I had negative equity (4,700.00) on my trade in and after Taxes in Texas and Extended Warranty, GAP and warranty on the King Ranch Leather for 7 years the final price that was financed was 45,000. No down payment.

Wow! That is a great deal. I didn't do that well on my '09 KR up here in the metroplex a few months ago but my dealer did treat me great on my trade, so I can't complain.

As a point of reference, just purchased a 2010 Supercab 4x4 Lariat. MSRP $37,720 OTD price $28,500. No trade in. Cash purchase. Didnt have to pay sales tax, military exempt! Heck of a nice rig. I'm happy with the deal.

Guys....you realize that if you beat up the dealer and then finance the whole enchilada through Ford Credit, you're giving it all back and then some....right?

They know their game better than you do. With trades involved, rebates, financing, dealer installed upgrades, etc., there's no way to know what you're really paying for the truck. Just ask the guy with the $45k FoMo mortgage above!

The dealership was Ford Country in Henderson, Nevada (Las Vegas). If you google their website, they have actual pics of the vehicles posted. Much better than going through the Ford website. FYI, I got an additional $500 rebate for being active duty military. Ask for Rich in sales. Young, late 20's guy but knows his stuff. No nonsense. He either can do the deal or he cant. Low drama. Picked me up at the airport in a new mustang and had me out the door in 90 minutes. Tell him "the Colonel" referred you. He will get a kick out of that.

Default I think I made out thanks to the Presidents.

I finally finalized the paperwork on my fully loaded 2010 FX4 screw, the msrp after the ford discounts that are stated on the window sticker is $45,300. I just paid 35,500 plus 400 dealer B.S. Overall I am pretty happy with this deal. I thought I was going to get at least $1k in equity on the truck I traded, but I made out even. What do you guys think? Over $9k off works for me, even though my truck was worth more than even equity. Should I have walked out so they can call me back to give me that extra G I wanted????

First off, never get into negative equity! If you're upside down on your trade, just hold off until u pay it off. There will always be something newer and better on the market anyway. Second, check out the thread about what were actually paying for our trucks.

I know, not an xlt, but I bought mine for 4500 under invoice and 7500 off sticker! It's a loaded stx scab 4x4. Well, loaded for an stx.

Sticker was 34,250.
