Yeah I think so, mine is really high clicks on 3v engine but the 4.6 , manifold is more common than phasers now , IMO. I have manifolds on my bench.

A decent exhaust shop can probably point out the leaks where black carbon is coming out.

Just thought I'd update this thread. I climbed under the truck and found a loose clamp on the exhaust. I put a new clamp on and good as new.
