I have a 2010 F150 5.4l V8. One day, I heard a light squealing from under the hood then the a/c went hot immediately. After coming home, I went straight to look under the truck at the compressor assembly. Right away, I knew I needed to remove and replace the a/c compressor clutch hub as it was separated from the rubber and basically burnt. After removing the clutch hub, I see that the clutch pulley has got a bit of wiggle to it and doesn't spin smoothly, so I attempt to remove this. As I am removing the pulley, I see there's a small crack on what the pulley is secured to (I think the compressor shaft??). After just wiggling and pulling with my hands, the pulley comes off, but that (shaft) breaks.
I've attached a photo of exactly what I'm talking about. My question is, can I just replace this part itself (order a part from Autozone or get it from a similar vehicle at a pick-n-pull) or do I need a completely new a/c compressor?
On another note, how do I remove the coil? I see where the plug is, but I think it's bolted down and I can't see what I need to unbolt it.
Hopefully my description makes sense and I can find a solution that isn't going to cost be a lot of money which I don't have.
I appreciate and info!
