2010 5.4L 3V stalling while in drive
Hey community,
My lariat stalled on me at a stop sign, placed in park and it started without issue, shifted into drive and stalled again, placed it back into park and tried again and same result.
Next, out of desperation, with cars stacking up behind me, I started the truck up again in park and then shifted to 1st and manually shifted up
to drive and it didn’t stall as long as I started in fist and down shifted to 1st when coming to a stop.
To me, this sounds like a transmission problem, but would like everyone’s input here.

Welcome to the forum. What mileage? Routine maintenance? Other issues leading up to this? Checked for DTCs? We have some very smart folk around here but they will require more info to help you better.
it gets regular oil changes at indicated intervals, but it sits in our driveway 60% of the time, it’s not a daily driver.
I know it sounds similar to the previous stalling, but happened in all low RPM scenarios and all lower gears this time it’s only in “Drive”
I haven’t gotten the codes read yet, if any. There’s an intermittent fuel filler code (cap less E85) that keeps coming back and goes away on its own.
