Default 2009 paint codes?

Just picked up an '09 XL. It looks like U6 Candy Coat Metallic Red, but the paint code on the door jamb is "X0785". Can't find that code anywhere online, and I'm wanting some pre-painted body side moldings.

The build sheet says, "no paint".

This truck came from a company that used this color for all of their Ford trucks for at least a few years, so I guess it might be a custom color.

Anyone see a code like that before?

Actually yes I have. Not that exact code, but a similar kind. Back when I was at the Ford dealer a year ago, they gave me a MN state patrol car to paint. The paint code was similar to that, I think it was xo799. I ended up finding out it was Ford code EE. Post up a pic if you can. Painting is what I do, maybe if I see it, I'm recognize it.

Edit: here's my paint code thread. Might help...https://www.f150forum.com/f38/2009-p...r-list-166904/

My best guess is U6 like you said, or UK Royal red. I'm leaning towards UK, only because it's an XL. Typically they won't put a tri stage on a work truck, and also that it was a fleet truck. I could be wrong though

A body shop or the stealership should be able to look it up, no? They have to be able to match the paint.

Dealer more likely. But even then, who knows. When I painted that state patrol car I mentioned before, I worked at a Ford dealership body shop. They tried looking it up, no dice. I simply grabbed the color chip books, and searched by hand.

That way would be the best bet. It has to be one of those 2 colors. Our fleet database at my shop only lists those 2 for factory fleet reds on f150's. Besides E4 vermilion red, but that's a solid red.
