2009 F150 not going through system checks at startup
Yet one more issue! I never had as many problems with my 04 as what Im having with my 09. For the last two days it has been raining pretty good around here. So much so I got the sirius antenna leak. Yesterday there was a slight break in the rain and I got that taken care of. Today I go outside to come in to work and the truck started very oddly. When I opened the door the interior light didnt come on, I inserted the key and it cranked up and started fine, then the interior light flashed on and it didnt run through the system checks on the gauge cluster, then flashed check brake system and then went normal. I thought that was really weird, so I shut it down and started it back up and it done the exact same thing. This morning I was picking up my dad for work and drove for 5 mins or so. When I got over to his house I shut it off and started it back up and everything was completely normal, ran through the system checks and everything was good. Anyone have an idea on what that could be? Im afraid that I have some kind of water leak in an innopportune spot. Any help is appreciated!

Even though you sound like a DIY kind of person, you can always drop by your dealership so they can check things out. Keep an eye on things and let us know if those symptoms return.

Well I have to give an update, I took it to the auto parts store and they checked the battery. Sure as anything it was going bad. My 04 truck had a 650 cca battery but my new to me 09 only had a 540 I think it was. I replaced it with a 850cca. So far problem solved.

Good to hear it was a cheap and easy fix.
