Default 2009 F150 4x4 Headlight problems

I had posted this on a different forum but did not get a reply hope someone here can help me

I have a 2009 F150 4x4 and my head lights high and low beam and daytime running lights quit working all at once. I checked the fuses all good. Talked with ford service tech and the 2009 do not have a DRL module and the relays are incorporated in the "smart box" which is the fuse box inside the the cab on the passenger side.
He said to Check if there is power at the headlight switch and the multiswitch (signal light switch for the high beams) to see if there is power at the high beams when engaged. So if there is power at these two switches and no power at the headlights themselves then the "smart box" needs to be replaced the entire inside fuse box.
So does anyone know which wire in the headlight switch and in the multiswitch I need to test to see if there is power there.
Or any other suggestions as well that may be helpful.

Thanks for all the great help guys!!!!

So i checked the switch works and power to the switch multi switch works and power and smart box works.

So one thing i neglected to mention was I am using a retrofit headlights (2013 F150 Factory HID headlight housing) instead of 2009 factory headlight housing. I have a new MorimotoMoto F150 OEM HID CONVERSION (2009-2014) wiring harness which i just installed thinking its the problem. So the only thing i did not check is the balast and bulbs in the retrofit headlights. Both of these went out at the same time what is the chances of that ? does anyone else have this set up ?

My Ballast got wet and went out on mine. Also what were you using for a DRL, the HID does not like low power. If you are running the Turn signal light as you DRL and that and the head light went out I would be looking at the ground.

I would say it is the Ballast if that is your DRL. I don't know how well Forscan works on the 09 but you can make the turn light the DRL instead of the HID on my 2013. That is how mine was when I got it and I turned them off.

So how do I check the ballasts and would both go out at the same time ?

Does the Harness have a good ground?
If the Ballast shorted out it could make it so both didn't work, but I would think the fuse would go out also. I would be checking all the connections and and see where the power stops and try using the ground on the lights to make sure it is good also.

I have checked everything from the headlight switch multiswitch smart box all fuses new wire harness from morimoto and I put my original headlights back in and the worked right away. So I'm down to the headlight bulbs which are morimoto D2S 5000k. I have not removed the balast out of the housing yet.
