Seems like my question was if my rear dome light was the same one mentioned as I have found at least three different types. You can skip over my threads if it bothers you that much.

I apologize for this thread kidastra but I have a update. I was determined to get the cover off this morning so I tried what Wheaties suggested and still no luck so I grabbed it from the rear really hard and the rear part dropped down. Wiggled it a tad and the front came out. I changed the bulb to LED and now when I attempt to put the cover back on the light flickers like I may have pulled a wire loose when I jerked on it. I left the cover off for the time being as its too cold to fiddle with it.

I don't have time for pics/video right now. And, hopefully you've already found the answer. I gave up looking for answer and threw caution to the wind. Pulled straight down and cover came off. However, there is too much give in the fixture to successfully press it back. There are two tabs that you will see in the rear of the fixture. You will need to push these from behind with flathead screw driver. Push them forward towards the front of the truck and fixture will come out. Put the lens back on and then replace entire fixture. There is a tongue in the front of the fixture that goes into an alignment hole and then push the two tabs back into the ceiling.
