17" rim, Tallest, biggest, largest tire on a stock XLT?
I did a search and found nothing after 30 min. or so.
Then I looked at the sticky for a while and found nothing in the first 5 min. there is over 100 pages on that thread.
I titled the thread so it can be found in the search if anyone is looking in the future.
I am thinking about getting a tall highway tire.
Tall for looks to fill the wheel well
Highway for fuel, ride, noise.
What is the tallest tire for a stock XLT 17in rim 4x4?
Thanks!

Did you read through the attachment?
https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...ment-chart.pdf
It gives specs on the vehicle, wheel offset/backspace, tire size and if there are any issues with fitment.
The tallest seems to be ~33-34". 285/70R17 would be the biggest I would run personally. It is likely the biggest that will fit without any issues - though actual measured size may vary between tire manufacturers.
I have no experience with highway tires - I've only run MTs or ATs.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you - I need a new set of tires and want to go a bit bigger and more aggressive.
I currently have the standard 265/70/17's in XLT rims, with no lift or level. From all my research, 285/70/17 will be OK. Any bigger and I'd want a different offset or a level at least.

terra grappler has some odd-ball 17" sizes... they have one thats the same as a 33" tire
im running 285/70/17 BFG KO's and they are 1" taller than stock and comparable to a 32" tire.. and fits fine as the spare to just fyi
i was gonna go with the grapplers.. but dont want some special order of size/make if i need a fast replacement and/or stuck out in the sticks on a road-trip.

In a pinch, you could probably install the spare on the front axle if you're just going to use 2WD. That should be fine. I would avoid running two different sized rear tires at all if possible.

I have the 1.5" level ordered. now I am trying to decide on a tire.
thinking 33 in a highway tire.
lots of options in 285 70 17, not so much in a 285 75 17.
does anybody have any suggestions in a 285 75 17 in a highway tread?
thanks

I'm stuck between 2 tires.
Firestone Destination AT P285/70/17 800$
32.8 dia.
General grabber HTS LT285/70/17 740$
33.7 dia
The general is nearly an inch taller, and that is what I am looking for, but the firestone looks like a real nice tread pattern.
Not sure how a 2 tires claiming to be the same size have an inch difference in the specs.
