Morning all, the camera on my FX4 went out last week, i researched and checked the connections in the tailgate area as well as by the e-brake. this morning the camera came on again, (perfect picture and clarity) I shifted in and out of reverse and all was fine, then it goes out again, few minutes later back on then out. Before i buy a new camera does anyone have any advice on anything else to check? I'm assuming if the camera was out, it wouldn't function at all?

 

mine did something similar on my 2011. I replaced the camera and it has been fine ever since. But check the wire loom going into the tailgate to make sure its not damaged at all. Also check the plug the loom leads to...its right behind the bumper..just to make sure before you buy another camera.
