Got mine today. Really finishes off the look of the front end. Never had an issue with any debris damaging the IC without a cover in the two years it has been left open.

For me it's all about looks.

btw, 5.5mm socket required? WTF ford! can we not stick with 5mm or 6mm?

I didn't even put those two little bolts in an it isn't falling out anytime soon. Install took me less than 2 minutes in total.

I put the upper bolts in but didn't do the lower ones. The screw is circular and the hole is rectangular....

The lowers are just a plastic push clip. They just push in place.

Yeah, discovered that back in 1989 when I bought a Ford Taurus SHO and had to do some dash work. Now the 5.5mm socket and nut driver are part of my tool arsenal just for Fords.

It is an odd metric size as I work with the metric system everyday when it comes to hardware. The most common hex head sizes in the metric world are 7, 8, 10, 13, 17 and 19mm.
