First time poster here. I'm on the hunt for a clean, F-150 and but am finding I will likely have to travel out of state as I'm looking for specific trim levels. That being said, below are some pictures from a listing I'm interested in. It's a 2013 Limited w/ Ecoboost. It looks like there may be some surface rust in the rear wheel well? Is this something I should be concerned about or am I just overanalyzing? Waiting on the dealership for some additional details. I'm a few hundred miles away so can't just easily drop in.
Yep, looks standard for a steel bodied truck
Where are you located?
If that level of rust concerns you, you might want to look at 2015+
Thanks, appreciate the response. I'm in NJ but the truck is in the Cleveland, OH area. The dealership is supposed to do a walk around video to give me a better feel for any issues. I'd love a 2015+ but going to be a bit over budget. Sounds like some level of surface rust would be expected on most 2013-14's? Not overly concerning?
Would still recommend 5.0 vs. ecoboost (if you can find it). Know a few buddies who had ecoboost and only had headache after headache. The 5.0 is a solid engine.
Being from mid ohio be careful of 'snow belt' vehicles. Cleveland to Erie Pa. Lake effect snow and salted roads before and after everyone else. Also 09-14 f150 rear wheel wells go fast. Piece of foam between body panels and rot from the inside out.. just like 03-08 ram trucks.
Found truck in question. Little 'flares' on limited or fx4s ect happen to hide rust area. Also note that the cab corners were not in photo frame when they took pics of rear doors open.

I would pass. The wheel wells are rusted out. The bars supporting the bed are rusted. They painted the frame. Heck, they even painted over the freakin calipers. If rust is a concern, look for something else.
