Hello all.....New to the site....

Im looking at painting my grille black on my white 09 Platinum....has there been a thread on this or can i see some pics of people who have done it already!

Try using plastidip. You can black it out and peel it off later if you dont like it. Search Plastidip on the forums for pics.

FYI ... The Platinum grille is made-up of

• surround - thin metal clad that has been chrome plated and brushed.
• inserts - chrome plated plastic.
• all layered over and bonded to a black plastic shell.

The paint shoppe tried soda blasting, however, that just made the chrome more shiney. Ended-up sand blasting with the nozzle held a distance from the surfaces. Etching / bonding primer was used ( details unknown ).

This was done 2years ago and has held-up well. Have touched-up a couple of small stone chips and aren't noticeable.
