What coil overs for best on road ride quality?

I know this is the off road section, but.....I'm ready to order coil overs for my 2014 FX4 and every company I call suggests something different for the best on road ride quality. With a budget of $3,000 what would you suggest?

Just an FYI, there are very few people that have had multiple (different) sets of coilovers who can give an honest, authentic answer to your question.

I've had 2 different front shocks, but I can't really count Bilstein 5100s as "coilovers" because they utilize the OEM coil springs. (I do NOT recommend Bilsteins, BTW).

Your best option is to work closely with a company that will listen to what you want (ride, loads, etc.). I do recommend talking with Alex at Halo Lifts. He will actually talk with you on the phone, and he knows all the right questions to ask. And, he sells a number of different brands.

Since getting mine (BOSS suspension), I've never looked back.

HTH!

You might consider someone who doesn't just sell 1 brand (their own), and who won't care which brand you pick, but will help you get the right set up for your rig, no matter which brand you choose.

You won't see Alex on here much anymore. He's too busy helping people fill their needs in real-person.

I did this with several shops and they recommend different packages from what their manufacturers recommend....that's what has made this confusing.
I ended up ordering up the KIng OEM replacement coilovers. Hopefully it was the right move. I going to be looking at doing the rear leaf packs next with air bag helpers for when I'm towing my boat. I have an 05 duramax for when I need to haul something heavy.

You can't really go wrong with King, Fox, or Icon. With any of those brands you can both adjust the spring pre-load and the change the shock valving to dial in the ride exactly how you want it. You made the right move

Wow! Thanks man!

We get emails all the time about suspension kits. We have never pushed any product on anyone if they didn't need it or if they are looking to go a different route!

Thanks for the support though!

I have Bilstein 5100's and offroad a fair bit and have no complaints.

New Bilstein 6112 coilover and 5160 installed <--- link

Also consider as suggested in that thread an aftermarket UCA...
